Margins tab of the Page Setup dialog box

If you change the page setup and you plan to print your work, you should change the printer setup to match.

Top

Lets you choose page margins (border widths). You can use margins as boundary guides for creating drawings. Type the margins you want, or use the scroll arrows to change the widths.

Most printers do not print to the edge of the paper. Margins include this nonprinting area. For example, if your margin is 1/2 inch and the nonprinting area is 1/4 inch, the margin is 1/ 2 inch from the edge.

Bottom

Units

Lets you change the measuring increment. By default, the units match the ruler.

To change the units, click the button. A menu opens, displaying the units available, along with the More Units command.

Show Page Crop Marks

Prints crop marks on the paper.

Page Fill

If Enabled is selected, you can click the Page Fill button to open the Interior Fill tab of the Object Format dialog box and can choose a fill for the page. The fill will display on the button and in the preview area on the right.

Apply to All Pages

Applies all of the page setup options to all of the pages in the document.

Default button

Lets you establish the current settings as the default settings for all new pages and documents.
